Siobhan Stagg & Lauren Fagan to make their Proms debut

Two of Melba’s own are to make their debut in one of the most beloved of classical traditions. As part of the 2016 BBC Proms line-up, sopranos Siobhan Stagg & Lauren Fagan have been announced as soloists, complementing their growing international successes and a testament to the dedication they bring to the art of opera singing.

Siobhan will grace the Royal Albert Hall stage to perform the soprano solo in Zemlinsky’s Lyric Symphony with the BBC Symphony Orchestra conducted by Australian Simone Young, while Lauren will take centre stage on the widely popular Last Night of the Proms in Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music.

Both Siobhan and Lauren are enjoying some great career advancements in Europe and the UK respectively. Siobhan is continuing her time at the Deutsch Oper, Berlin, taking on leading roles in Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier and will soon return to Australia to join international tenor Roberto Alagna for his Australian tour, while Lauren has performed for none other than Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall at St James’ Palace in the first part of 2016, as well as being announced to make her leading role debut with the Welsh National Opera for their 2016/17 season.
