Alum Samuel Sakker in the spotlight

Samuel Sakker recently took centre stage of Royal Opera House to fill the title role in La traviata.

To learn of Samuel Sakker’s last minute opportunity to step into the title role of Alfredo in La traviata at Covent Garden was a huge thrill! Tenor Samuel was a Melba Opera Trust scholar in 2011 & 2012, and has since gone on to become a young artist in the Jette Parker Programme at Royal Opera House alongside Melba alumni Lauren Fagan, Emily Edmonds and Samuel Dale Johnson. Samuel was asked to step into the role for Saimir Pirgu at very short notice.
