Melba Program Applications

Applications open at 9.00am AEST on Monday 10 August 2026.

Applications close at 11.59pm AEST on Monday 31 August 2026.

The Melba Program is a year-long scholarship-funded development program available to singers and repetiteurs.

Designed as a bridge into the profession, each year up to eight artists are selected to participate in an individually tailored program that blends artistic excellence with business know-how, mentoring and performance experience. Entirely scholarship-funded, including flights and accommodation for participants living outside Victoria, the program is open to artists across Australia.

Alongside artistic preparation, participants receive coaching in areas including law, accounting, media, marketing, negotiation, public speaking and time management, as well as dedicated health and wellbeing sessions.

This learning is put into practice through a diverse performance program, offering opportunities ranging from intimate recitals to large-scale concerts.
