Programs

Melba Opera Trust supports young Australian opera singers (aged 21-28) who have completed an undergraduate degree in voice or equivalent program of vocal studies.

Every year we select a group of the most outstanding young singers who have the ability and drive to succeed. Over the course of a year, each singer benefits from an individually tailored  program to help them get the very best out of themselves.

A three-part program

The program is made up of three complementary components:

We provide financial support by way of scholarships so that our singers can undertake intensive, specialised and expert training that is appropriate for their age and stage.

We support their training and development through our Mentor Program by facilitating focused workshops and seminars with experts in the industry as well as connect them to the industry and foster a supportive network

We create performance opportunities through our Melba Artists program so our singers can put what they are learning into practice and have experience as freelance artists.

By offering these three levels of support, the Melba Opera Trust encourages a rounded development program with a focus on excellence and a view to developing polished young professionals who will stand out in a competitive industry.
